2 day programme introducing you to the world of museums and encouraging you to think about the part you will play in their future.

It is a complete programme, and needs attendance at both sessions. Please note the other day to commit to is:

  • Day 2   Saturday 18th May – Cambridge – Museum of Cambridge and others

Trustee? Project Manager? Learning or Engagement team? If you have come into a museum from another background this is the chance for you to enhance your knowledge and understanding of the sector.

The programme will be based in differing museum venues in the region. These are chosen for their innovation, narratives and breadth of collections.

In the week between the first and second days of the programme participants will also be given the opportunity of visiting museums and doing a little research.

The programme will be led by Dr Nick Winterbotham who started his museum career in East Anglia and has led eight heritage organisations in his 35 year career. He is passionate about the way in which all museum teams and disciplines can be brought to bear on ever wider audiences, their learning and their engagement with art, heritage, science and the environment.

There will be a stimulating syllabus of museum material and Nick  is promising a lively programme of discovery, engagement, personal choice and hands-on learning in the programme.

If you would like to discuss this with him, he can be contacted on 07775 774539.
