Event Details

TRAINERS: Ruth Burwood (Museum Development Project Officer, SHARE Museums East) and Ruth Battersby Tooke (Curator of Costume and Textiles, Norfolk Museums Service).

Please arrive after 10.30 for a 11.00 start. Refreshments will be provided on arrival but please bring your own lunch.

This practical workshop is full of advice and guidance for anyone thinking about developing a new display or refreshing an old one. The techniques discussed can be used for everything from a small case re-display to a new exhibition or even an entire gallery! Covering everything from how to plan your work to choosing your objects and interactives, delegates will learn some practical skills and come away with lots of ideas to help their work back at their own museums.

**NEW for 2019**

We have updated the training session to include ideas for how we can use existing objects in collections, along with interpretation methods, to take a fresh look at the history we present and to make our museums more relevant to more people. This will include guidance on displaying objects that challenge visitors and the language we use to interpret them.

If you have an further questions, you may find them answered on our FAQs page.
