Top Tips for Museum Marketing

SHARE Museums East have recently completed a pilot project working with six museums on developing marketing skills and resources. A copy of the report of the project can be found here - go to the back two pages for some 'top-tips' on what to consider when planning your museums marketing strategy.

Digital Technology - what does it mean?

As part of the collaboration between Collections Trust and SHARE Museums East, a short piece of research was undertaken reviewing the perception of digital technology by staff in museums, particularly in relation to collections access. The report makes for interesting reading. Recommendations will be shaping SHARE Museums Easts way forward in supporting digital development, this will include a 'digital ideas bank' appearing on the website soon.

Volunteer development programme

This programme aimed to support museums to develop holistic approaches to recruiting, managing and involving volunteers. It was facilitated By Linda Brandish an experienced trainer/facilitator in this field. Building on a very successful pilot in 2011, 4 further programmes were delivered in Norfolk, Cambs, Herts/Essex ad Suffolk. 26 museums have now taken part in this programme. Museums are sharing volunteering documents they have created via this website.
