Learn about all aspects of Disabled Access to Museums and what your museum can do to improve this.

Trainer: Jo Gillam

Suitable for: Trustees, managers, staff and volunteers who are interested in improving all aspects of Access to their museum.

Disability is the world’s largest minority group which any one of us can join at any time. Disabled people comprise at least 1 in 5 of the UK population but do your visitors and team members come close to reflecting this? If not, they and your museum are missing out. Join this two-part course to find out more about disabled access and some of the ways your museum can make a difference.

We strongly encourage participants should attend both sessions.

(Part 1. Is taking place on 19 October 2021, please book separately for this. If you have missed it or can’t make it, you can still attend part 2.)

Part 2 – We’ll look at more disability access needs, how you can identify your service’s access barriers, and consider more ways to make access improvements, often at low or no cost. Participants will be given a resource to help them progress their disability access journey.

Duration: 2 1/2 hours

More details will be sent out once you have registered for the event.
