Looking at stress, self care and the importance of looking after your mental health, focusing on the pandemic and home-working issues.

The workshop, offered by the SHARE Fundraising Network, is aimed at those with fundraising and income generation responsibilities but will have some relevance to many others in museums.

This wellbeing workshop will cover stress, self care and the importance of looking after your mental health. The workshop will be a safe space, and we will all agree a confidentiality agreement together. The workshop will look at why the Covid pandemic has been so stressful and help you to maintain your mental health through working from home and in your role in a museum.

Trainer: Lauren Ephithite is a Mental Health Mentor. She has experienced anxiety and depression since being a teenager. She now manages her mental health with medication and lots of self care and helps others to do the same. Lauren previously worked in the museum sector and has a great understanding of the pressures and work involved in museums. She held positions as Assistant Curator, Project Officer and Collections Development Assistant within Norfolk Museums Service. She was also a Museum Mentor, supporting an independent museum through the Accreditation process for the first time, was awarded an AMA and served on the committee in various roles, including President, of the South and East Museums Federation. Since redundancy triggered a breakdown she has remained connected to the Museum Sector undertaking freelance work for the Museums Journal and Share Museums East.

This Fundraising Network session is a partnership project with the Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy Programme.
