This session will focus on how people working in museums can better deal with some of the negative side effects associated with lockdown.

Join us for this workshop which is jointly funded by  SHARE Museums East and the Association for Suffolk Museums (AfSM).

This free wellbeing workshop will explore:

  1. Why the pandemic has been stressful
  2. Signs of stress
  3. Self care

The session will be run by Lauren Ephithite on Zoom. Lauren Ephithite is a Mental Health Mentor. She has experienced anxiety and depression since being a teenager. She now manages her mental health with medication and lots of self care and helps others to do the same.

Lauren previously worked in the museum sector and has a great understanding of the pressures and work involved in museums. She previously held positions as Assistant Curator, Project Officer and Collections Development Assistant within Norfolk Museums Service. She was also a Museum Mentor, supporting an independent museum through the accreditation process for the first time, was awarded an AMA and served on the committee in various roles, including President, of the South and East Museums Federation. Since redundancy triggered a breakdown she has remained connected to the Museum Sector undertaking freelance work for the Museums Journal and Share Museums East.

If there are any areas concerning wellbeing in the workplace that you would like Lauren to cover during the session, please get in touch via email at hello@laurenephithite.com.
